The Downtown Events Group (DEG) is a division of the Downtown Community Alliance. DEG produces six annual, large-scale events in downtown Des Moines.The mission of DEG, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to producing annual large-scale festivals and events in downtown Des Moines, is to effectively contribute to the favorability and vitality of downtown, thereby enhancing the overall quality of life, economic development and cultural diversity in greater Des Moines through accessible festivals and special events reflecting the vibrancy and character of the community. DEG events attract and entertain a variety of audiences from the metro area, the state and throughout the Midwest. DEG events utilize Iowa’s rich natural resources, innovative citizens and exciting venues. DEG produces the following events in downtown Des Moines:
