The Downtown Farmers' Market - Winter Season has a variety of entertainment to enjoy. Take in the sights and sounds of the Farmers’ Market.
Get into the holiday spirit; at the Market, you’ll have the chance to jump start both your holiday spirit and your holiday shopping. Capital Square atrium will be completely decked out with holiday decorations and a beautifully decorated 30 foot Christmas tree.
Friday, Dec 18th
You will find the following performers inside Capital Square on skywalk level at noted time:
Julius Brooks 11am-2pm. Will be performing on the skywalk level during the lunch hour’s market on Friday. A Market classic performs jazz music and has been entertaining at the Farmers’ Market for ten years
Saturday, Dec 19th
Top Hat Carolers - The Top Hat Carolers will perform in Victorian-era costumes. They will be strolling around the Downtown Farmers Market, so look for them inside Capital Square on Skywalk Level and Street Level and outside on Nollen Plaza.
You will find the following performers inside Capital Square on street level at noted time:
Door #3 9-10. With a unique blend of guitars, drums, a flute, and a harp, this band believes their style to be a mix of jazz and folk. They play everything from upbeat love songs to well-known instrumentals. Even though they consider Des Moines home, Door #3 enjoys traveling in order to bring the gift of music to others. www.door3band.com
Side Porch Pickers 10:00-11:30pm. A Blue Grass/Folk/Gospel music band that consists entirely of teenage and under boys. The group consists of a guitar, a fiddle, a banjo, a mandolin, a bass fiddle, and a jug for instruments.
Flying Pig Banjo 11:30-1pm. This Southern Appalachian blue grass band performs haunting, driving toe-tapping, string band music on fiddles, banjo, mandolin, and guitar. Members of Flying Pig Fiddle & Banjo delight in sharing their passion for music and dance with our market patrons.
Sydney Storm 9-1pm.
This local balloon artists loves making balloon creations for children and adults of all ages. More information at www.sydneystorm.com
